We are excited to share with you the plans for Niagara-on-the-Lake in the weeks leading up to Christmas!

On the premise that Niagara-on-the-Lake is the “Ultimate Christmas Village”, a massive upgrade to the Christmas lighting program in the Heritage District is underway and will likely attract thousands of people just to see the spectacle of the lights. To make it merrier, there will be Christmas music playing outside all the way down Queen Street. There really is no other place that can do up Christmas like Niagara on the Lake can, especially this year!
It will really feel like a Dicken’s village!

Visitors are invited to shop, dine, stay and be entertained in the town during November and December. The Shaw Festival, is presenting Charles Dickens ‘A Christmas Carol’ at the Royal George Theatre between November 15 and December 23rd. This production has already attracted thousands of interested theatre-goers, with tickets over 80% sold. What could be better than walking through the snowy decorated village and going to the theatre to see what promises to be an excellent play which is such a Christmas classic.

The Candlelight Stroll is another annual event worth coming to the town for. On Friday December 1st at 6:30 pm there is a guided stroll winding through the historical town accompanied by local choirs and seasonal entertainment. Everyone buys a candle for $1 that goes to a local charity/non profit organization to help a family in need. To see 3000 people walking with candles through the old streets in a procession with carolers and musicians on every street corner is really moving. We have never missed one!
